Sticky Wicket

Its been long since I wrote here...well, things have been a little sticky of late. We are as usual not able to do as much as we would like to do with the site (I wonder if thats a good thing...we always have something new in mind :) ), the subscriber count is stuck at a couple of thousand...we are going crazy over as to why it is not going up...it's a sticky wicket I guess and we will have to play really well.

I would like to thank for some really positive feedback we have received on the site and also on the blog. Its your appreciation that is serving as the oil (its crazy how everything that even remotely reminds of that is really invaluable these days) for running the endeavor.

A New Day Has Come...

...albeit a whole two weeks (and some more) later then originally planned :)
I am talking about the new setup of APuzzleADay that went live today. We had originally planned to coincide with the publishing of our 50th puzzle but, things always do not go as we plan them to. Puzzling, isn't it?
Talking about the new setup, we have added umpteen new features with it. To know more visit:

The First Grand

It has been a hectic few weeks as always. We are close to a figure of a 1000 subscribers...I have to admit things have been great on that front lately and we have had umpteen puzzlers joining us everyday (and Yes!!! It feels great). So, as we near a Grand (1000 figure) we are planning on changes on a Grand level. The intent of these changes is to provide an even more fun filled experience to our visitors. The new revamped layout and design will work wonders on that front. There will be room to do a lot more on the site when the new setup kicks in.
Well, I am not letting any secrets out on that...you'll see it when you see it :).

Immigration Checks

Last couple of weeks have been tough. Life's like that...we have not been able to do as much as we would have liked with the site. There have been problems with the server (yes, it is the one to be blamed for all the 404s). Then, there were other problems with some of us shifting places, some getting busy with B-School applications. We are in the process of solving these and have a whole lot of new features under development. This has been in part made possible by a new member who recently came on board the APuzzleADay team.
Another thing of note is that we are moving to a new server this weekend. We are hoping this would put an end to the downtime we have to bear through week after week.
So, summing up there's a lot going on...a lot of immigration...just making the final checks.

The Acid Test...

Yes, we are at the stage now, albeit delayed by a week but here finally. We are going to spread the APAD community beyond friends from tomorrow. The plan is to advertise APAD through every possible way that does not involve spending money (mails, orkut, linkedin et al).
Every step has to be cautious from now on; we are stepping into an unfamiliar territory although we are not alone, we of course have our puzzlers to help us out like we help them with their problems :).

The Puzzling Road

We have moved on from one challenge to another as we try to build a reputation by publishing quality puzzles everyday. It is strange how hard it is to find good puzzles these days (I am thankful there is apuzzleaday.org now). Also, we are tweaking the existing features before we go live to the whole www community.
The initial feedback has been encouraging...we want to do more, lets see how many problems can we create for our readers :)

Really Simple Site aka RSS

Yes, we are back working on the site after a short hiatus. Life just gets in the way of things you see :).
Our aim has always been to keep the site simple...and add cool features along the way. Going by the RSS philosophy I finally added feeds to the site. Hope that the feed will shine atop zillions of browsers in the days to come. I think it will...we just need it to be a RSS

The IDEA

It was a day in January this year that Ankush suggested the idea of creating an online community to support dietary needs of puzzlers worldwide. The idea was to create a one stop interface to trouble your minds which is both simple and challenging at the same time.
It has been 2 months and we have already have had umpteen reworks, rethinks along the way. There has a lot of hard work been put into it and we hope to continue doing so to make this catch up big.
